What a great outlet for short stories, an often neglected art form! Instead of buying a book of collected short stories, readers could download just one. Your post also made me think about “condensed books,” which Reader’s Digest used to publish. (Maybe they still do.) They catered to people who wanted to appear well read without doing all the reading. Inexpensive and easily digested, sounds like a great strategy to get people to read more by reading less!

Yes, and the timing seems right for the shorter content marketplace, especially as more newspapers and magazines move their content behind paywalls.
