Here are just a few of the interesting executive changes making headlines over this past week:
Edwards Takes the Top Shelf at Overstock
Internet retailer Overstock has promoted Mitch Edwards to interim CEO. Edwards is temporarily replacing Patrick Byrne, who is stepping down for health reasons. Byrne is battling a case of stage 4 hepatitis C that he contracted over 30 years ago during a trip to China. He believes that his prognosis is good but is unable to tell if his health will improve enough to return to work. Edwards began his career with Overstock last August. He’s been both the CFO and general counsel for a handful of other high-profile tech-related companies.
Revlon Puts Its Best Face Forward with Juan Figuereo
Global cosmetics conglomerate Revlon has hired a new EVP and CFO. Hard on the heels of its announcement of new CEO Fabian Garcia, Revlon hired Juan Figuereo as its new principal financial officer. Figuereo offers a wealth of experience with companies as diverse as Newell Rubbermaid, Wal-Mart, and PepsiCo. He last worked for NII Holdings as of October 2015 and begins his new job immediately.
