Garcia New Head of Revlon
Personal care manufacturer Revlon announced the hiring of 13-year Colgate-Palmolive executive Fabian Garcia as the new president and CEO. Garcia has worked in and out of the industry, with stints at casual-footwear maker Timberline, fashion and fragrance giant Chanel, and the Max Factor business at Procter & Gamble.
Founder Westergren Back in Charge at Pandora
Founder and director Tim Westergren is back on top at Internet radio icon Pandora Media. Always involved in the development of Pandora, Westergren has been a director since the company’s inception. He has held the positions of treasurer and chief creative officer, as well as a previous two-year term as president and CEO from 2002 through 2004. With 20 years of experience in the music industry, Westergren, a trained jazz pianist, worked on the Music Genome Project that led to the creation of Pandora in 2000.
Telefónica Has a New Chairman
Based in Spain, Telefónica, a multinational provider of wireless telecommunications, named José María Álvarez-Pallete López executive chairman. COO since mid-2012, Álvarez-Pallete has been a development project for outgoing chairman César Alierta. He joined the Telefónica Group in 1999 and has risen through the leadership ranks at Telefónica Internacional, Telefónica Latin America, and Telefónica Europe before reaching the COO position. Álvarez-Pallete has worked for auditors Arthur Young, Benito & Monjardín/Kidder, Peabody & Co., and Cementos Portland prior to Telefónica.
