Here are just a few of the interesting executive changes making the headlines over the past week:
Ailes Out at Fox
After several weeks of being a high-profile news item, Roger Ailes resigned as chairman and CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network and chairman of Fox Television Stations. Ailes, a 20-year veteran at Fox, has been accused of professional misconduct by several lead female news anchors at Fox as well as other women while he managed media campaigns for prominent political figures. Rupert Murdoch took over as chairman and as acting CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.
Olson New Head of Toro
Outdoor irrigation, lighting, and equipment maker The Toro Company named Richard Olson president and CEO, to be effective in November. The Toro 30-year veteran, was elected president and COO in September 2015. Starting as a process engineer in 1986, Olson had held positions as program manager, director of plant operations, and subsidiary general manager on his way to the Toro top office.
Man Group Names Ellis New CEO
The hedge fund manager Man Group PLC announced the promotion of Luke Ellis to CEO in September. Ellis joined Man Group in 2010 and most recently held the president post managing Man AHL, Man GLG, Man Numeric, and Man FRM investment units. He had earlier been the managing director of FRM for 10 years prior to its acquisition by Man Group. Ellis had also been a managing director at JPMorgan Chase.
