EOTMHere are just a few of the interesting executive changes making headlines over the past week.

Schottenstein Moves from Interim to Permanent at American Eagle Outfitters

Young adult clothing retailer American Eagle Outfitters made permanent the role of CEO for Jay Schottenstein almost two years after tagging him as interim. Chairman since March 1992, he served as the CEO from 1992 until late in 2002, much of that time under predecessor company Schottenstein Stores. Schottenstein has also served as chairman and is currently a director of DSW.

Gutierrez New CEO at NRG Energy

Retail electricity producer NRG Energy named Mauricio Gutierrez to the top spot. Gutierrez joined NRG in 2004 and has spent the last 10 years as the EVP and COO. His career at NRG includes leadership stints in construction, engineering, operations, and trading. Gutierrez has worked as a project manager for DTP Consultores in Mexico as well as a regional manager and trader while at Dynergy.

New Spice at McCormick & Company

Maryland-based seasonings maker McCormick named Lawrence Kurzius president and CEO as of February 2016. Joining the company after the acquisition of Zatarain’s in 2003, Kurzius has moved up and through the McCormick leadership development program. He has held management positions in sales and marketing, regional and country management, and divisional and business segment leadership in China, EMEA, and the US. Kurzius has worked at Quaker Oats and Mars subsidiary Uncle Ben’s.
