A growing number of spas are marketing flotation therapy as a service for clients looking to reduce stress, soothe chronic muscle aches, and improve sleep. Customers typically pay $50-$100 for one-hour or 90-minute sessions, which involve floating inside specialized tanks or pods containing a mixture of warm water and Epsom salt. Tanks come in a variety of styles and prices, ranging from $6,000 to $15,000 for classic models — closed-in chambers designed to be dark and silent — to more than $20,000 for modern float pods outfitted with music players and colored lights, according to The Wall Street Journal.
