Global Dairy Prices Reach Five-Year Low

June 22, 2015 | Comments Off on Global Dairy Prices Reach Five-Year Low

World dairy prices fell to a five-year low in June 2015 as increased milk production continues to weaken global demand. Production of milk, cheese, and butter is on pace for a record year, and in the US, rising dairy imports and declining exports are further contributing to the glut, according to a report by Rabobank. Output is increasing in Europe after the EU government removed dairy production caps in April, and shipments from top exporter New Zealand remain high despite ongoing drought conditions, Bloomberg Business reports.
